As part of the United Church of Christ, First Congregational Church of Hanover strives to be inclusive of all.

Whether you are new to the South Shore or your family has resided here for generations, we hope you will take the opportunity to attend a service at the First Congregational Church of Hanover. Our members come from many local communities and from many different religious upbringings. We are truly a "community church," and take pride in serving the spiritual needs of everyone. Located in Hanover Town Center, we were founded in 1728. In fact, the original settlers of Hanover established this church as one of their first acts.

You may read the rich history of our local church on our website by clicking here. The Congregational Church itself has long been a leader in equality.

We became affiliated with the United Church of Christ in the 1950's, joining other churches that had similar beliefs. Today the UCC is one of the most welcoming Christian churches in the United States by reaching beyond social class, gender, race, and sexual orientation.
