Reverend Eric D. Stroshine
Rev. Eric has been Senior Pastor of First Congregational Church of Hanover since July 2011. He is a native of Massachusetts and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and a Master of Divinity Degree from Yale University Divinity School. He also has studied at Vanderbilt University Divinity School, The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University, and completed clinics in family emotional process in Bowen family system theory at the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center in Chicago. He is presently pursuing part time a Master’s Degree in social work and counseling at Boston University. In addition to his church service, he has served as a Big Brother with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and visits on a weekly basis a second grade class at Cedar Elementary School in Hanover offering reading help to the students. He founded tutoring ministries at inner cities elementary schools in two communities where he served. He has been a Religion Writer for major metropolitan newspapers and presently writes columns which appear in many South Shore newspapers, including the Boston Globe, the Mariner, and online media sites.
Director of Christian Education
Steve is a former restaurant owner and works as a Personal Vacation Advisor for Disney World adventures. Steve has been very involved in the church for 8 years with his wife, Nicole, and two young daughters. Steve started serving the church as Director of Christian Education since August 2018. He is responsible for helping the Sunday School program run smoothly and working with the Christian Education Team in providing spiritual enriching opportunities for the children.
Minister of Music
A native of Rockford, Illinois, Chad is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music (composition) and currently lives with his partner David in the Boston area. At the age of 15, Chad graduated high school and went on to become the Organist at Radio City Music Hall, for which he gained a listing in ‘Ripley’s Believe it or Not!’ He also played piano for many different Broadway shows and directed many theater groups before finally moving to Boston to attend school. In addition to being the Minister of Music, he currently is the Assistant Musical Director and Principal Accompanist for the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus and also works in the choral department at Wellesley High School. Many groups and artists have recorded/performed his arrangements including the Boston Pops.
Susan is responsible for arranging all building rentals, doing the weekly worship bulletin and running the church office. Susan is an active member of The First Congregational Church of Plympton, is a graduate of Gordon College, and has a home and pet services business. She began serving the church in November 2013.
Church Sexton Karen is responsible for cleaning and maintaining our buildings. She began serving the church in May 2018. Karen retired from Milton Hospital as a medical technologist. Karen is member of the church, where she serves as the chair of the Outreach and Mission Team.
Treasurer and Youth Director
Carol supports the finance committee in the management of the Church’s finances. She works at Arbella Insurance as a senior research analyst and is a graduate of Boston College. Carol leads the Senior High Fellowship, is the Mission Trip Coordinator and is on staff as the one who provides guidance and program support to the junior and senior high youth fellowships.
